Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino 'to reject Real Madrid approach'

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino reportedly turns down a £15m-a-year approach from Real Madrid to remain in North London.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly told Real Madrid that he has no intention of leaving his current club.

Madrid are looking for a new boss after sacking Julen Lopetegui last month and had revived their interest in Pochettino, who was also on their shortlist to replace Zinedine Zidane during the summer.

The European champions were understood to be willing to offer the 46-year-old a deal worth £15m a year in order to prise him away from North London.

However, Pochettino reportedly has concerns about the level of disruption behind the scenes at the Bernabeu following Madrid's dismal start to the season.

Los Blancos have lost five and won just three of their last nine games across all competitions, although they have recorded victories in both matches under caretaker boss Santiago Solari.

Pochettino is their number one choice to replace Lopetegui, though, and president Florentino Perez may now be forced to wait until next summer at the earliest before once again trying to entice the Argentine back to Spain.
