Roma spectacularly booked their spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League courtesy of a 3-0 win over Barcelona in the second leg of their quarter-final in Italy on Tuesday night.
Barcelona entered the match holding a 4-1 advantage from the first leg at Camp Nou, but were eliminated from the competition by an impressive Roma outfit.
A Daniele de Rossi penalty made it 2-0 to the home side in the 58th minute after Edin Dzeko had secured the early breakthrough, before Kostas Manolas headed a third for the Italians in the 82nd minute.

6.49pmRoma actually played pretty well for long stages of the first leg, but two own goals saw them fall 2-0 behind, before Gerard Pique made it 3-0 just before the hour. Edin Dzeko had one back for the visitors in the 80th minute, but Luis Suarez's late strike has seemingly put the tie beyond the home side tonight.
6.52pmRoma did beat Barcelona 3-0 on home soil during the second group stage of the 2001-02 Champions League, however, and that result here would see them progress to the semi-finals. It is very difficult to imagine Barcelona not scoring, but a couple of early goals for Roma and anything could happen.

There is also a change further forward as Patrik Schick comes in for the injured Diego Perotti, while Juan Jesus starts at the back as Bruno Peres drops out. Edin Dzeko, who scored in the first leg, again leads the line for the Italian giants.
7.05pmBarcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has selected the same XI that started the first leg. It will once again be a 4-4-2 formation for the Catalan outfit, with Sergi Roberto and Andres Iniesta operating in the wide midfield areas. Nelson Semedo is in at right-back, with the likes of Paulinho, Ousmane Dembele and Andre Gomes on the bench. Sergio Busquets, meanwhile, passes a late fitness test to start.

Valverde's side will reclaim the Spanish title, and will face Sevilla in Copa del Rey final as they look to claim a domestic double. The addition of the Champions League would make it a famous treble.
7.18pmBarcelona eased through the group stages of the competition – finishing ahead of Juventus at the top of Group D to make the round of 16, where they were drawn against Chelsea. A 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge left the tie delicately poised ahead of the second leg at Camp Nou, but Barcelona were far too strong for the English champions as a 3-0 success saw them make the last eight.
7.25pmBarcelona have won 14 of their previous 19 European Cup quarter-finals, but three of those defeats have come in their last four ties. Indeed, they lost to Juventus in last season's last eight, and were beaten by La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid at the same stage of the 2015-16 competition.

This is their first appearance in the quarter-finals of the Champions League since the 2007-08 campaign, when they lost 3-0 on aggregate to Manchester United.
7.38pmRoma have never won the Champions League, but they were strong in the group stages – finishing above Chelsea at the top of Group C. Atletico Madrid actually finished third in that particular group, and there is no question that Roma deserve credit for what they have achieved in this season's competition. The round of 16 paired the Italian club with Shakhtar Donetsk, and they lost the first leg 2-1 in Ukraine before recording a 1-0 victory on home soil. Can Roma turn things around tonight?

It is some ask for the Italian giants to move past Barcelona when considering what happened in the first leg last week.
