Atletico Madrid moved to within eight points of La Liga leaders Barcelona courtesy of a 3-0 win over Las Palmas at the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday afternoon.
Antoine Griezmann made the breakthrough just past the hour, before Fernando Torres and Thomas Partey added to the scoring against the relegation-threatened visitors.

Last season's league game at Atletico, meanwhile, only brought a 1-0 home success.

Simeone's side will enter the match off the back of a three-game winless run, which has seen them eliminated from the Copa del Rey at the quarter-final stage. Indeed, Sevilla won 2-1 at the Wanda Metropolitano in the first leg of their last-eight clash on January 17, before recording a 3-1 victory at the Estadio Ramon on Tuesday night. Atletico were also held to a 1-1 draw by Girona in the league on home soil last weekend.

Indeed, the capital club have won 12, drawn seven and lost just one of their 20 league matches to collect 43 points.
