Alan Hutton pens new Aston Villa deal

Aston Villa announce that defender Alan Hutton has decided to pen a new contract at the Championship club.

Aston Villa have revealed that defender Alan Hutton has penned a new deal.

Hutton had been out of contract this summer and with Villa experiencing financial difficulties, the full-back may have been released by the West Midlands outfit.

However, despite reports suggesting a pay cut, Hutton has opted to sign a new one-year contract at Villa Park.

The 33-year-old signed for Villa back in 2011 and has made a total of 170 appearances in all competitions since his arrival.

Nottingham Forest were allegedly keen on signing the Scot this summer before Hutton indicated that he wished to remain with Villa.
