Report: Arsenal reject Sampdoria's bid for Jack Wilshere

Sampdoria's £6.2m bid for midfielder Jack Wilshere has reportedly been knocked back by Arsenal, but the Gunners are willing to sell if the right amount is offered.

Arsenal have turned down a bid of £6.2m from Italian side Sampdoria for midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to a report.

The England international emerged as a possible target for La Samp earlier on Tuesday, being offered a chance to revive his career away from the Emirates Stadium.

Wilshere has just 12 months left to run on his current contract in North London and is seemingly down the pecking order ahead of the new campaign, having failed to truly make an impact during a season's loan stint at Bournemouth in 2016-17.

Serie A outfit Sampdoria are the first side to make a permanent approach for the 25-year-old, who is nursing another leg injury, but Di Marzio claims that Arsenal have rejected the offer.

It is claimed that the Gunners may be willing to offload their academy graduate, though that will require a sum of around £8.8m to be offered.
