Disney+ confirms that a host of cult shows will become available as part of the new Star section on Disney+ from next month.

Disney has announced the first batch of shows to be made available as part of its new 'Star' section on Disney+ from next month.

As revealed last month, the streaming service will add a new sixth channel to its UK edition from February 23, offering access to thousands of hours of TV and movies from across the various Disney companies.

Star will sit along dedicated sections for Marvel, Pixar, National Geographic, Disney and Star Wars inside Disney+, which will see its price increase from £5.99 a month to £7.99 a month from the same date.

Among the series joining Star at launch include the cult dramas 24, Lost, Prison Break, The X-Files and Desperate Housewives, comedy series How I Met Your Mother and dramas Atlanta and Black-ish.

Two new original series will also launch - Love, Victor, a spinoff from the movie Love, Simon, and Big Sky, a new thriller from acclaimed writer David E Kelley.

Select films from the iconic Die Hard franchise starring Bruce Willis will also be made available alongside "hundreds" more titles to be announced in the coming weeks.
