The BBC reveals that the upcoming new series of Line of Duty will tun to seven episodes instead of six.

The BBC has announced that the new series of Line of Duty will run to seven episodes instead of the usual six.

The show will return to BBC One in the next couple of months, two years after the last series aired.

Filming on series six began last February but was interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, although production was able to safely resume later in the year and wrapped up before Christmas.

In a post on Twitter on Tuesday, the BBC revealed that viewers can expect an extra episode to make up for the delay via a clip featuring Superintendent Hastings and DS Arnott.

Ahead of the new series, the BBC has decided to rerun series two of the cult drama, which starred Keeley Hawes as DI Lindsay Denton, on Saturday nights starting this weekend.
