Charlotte Hornets center Al Jefferson has been ruled out of action for up to three weeks.

The 30-year-old suffered a calf strain in the first quarter of his side's 87-82 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Jefferson will be out for a minimum of two weeks, but could still miss up to nine of his side's matches after an MRI scan diagnosed the problem on Monday.

Jefferson has averaged 13.7 points per game for the Hornets this season.
