Rayo Vallecano have completed the season-long loan signing of Stoke City midfielder Giannelli Imbula.

The 25-year-old arrived at the bet365 Stadium in February 2016 for a club-record fee, but the player has made little impact in the Potteries.

Imbula spent the last campaign on loan at Toulouse, where he made 30 appearances, but Stoke have maintained their desire to move the former Porto man out of the club.

Rayo Vallecano have now confirmed that they have completed the temporary transfer of the Belgian-born central midfielder.

Imbula could be drafted straight into the starting lineup, with Vallecano having lost both of their opening games in La Liga.
