Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme announces his desire to bring Jurgen Klopp and Cristiano Ronaldo to the Bernabeu if he assumes office.

Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme has announced that he would prefer Jurgen Klopp over Zinedine Zidane as manager at the Bernabeu.

Zidane has led Los Blancos to three Champions League titles and two La Liga crowns during his two stints in the dugout, but his existing deal will expire in 2022 and he has been frequently linked with a summer exit.

Real Madrid have endured an inconsistent campaign under Zidane, although they have not been helped by a wave of injuries, and Cox Energy founder Riquelme would not have the Frenchman in control of the reins if he was president.

Speaking to El Partidazo de COPE, Riquelme said: "Zidane would not be my coach. I personally like Klopp a lot and Raul is doing very well."

The 32-year-old also expressed his desire to bring Ronaldo back to the Spanish capital, adding: "I put on the table that we repeat Cristiano, because he has represented a lot for football and for Real Madrid. There are no old or young players, there are good or bad players."

Zidane has won 62 of his 101 games in charge during his current and second stint as Real Madrid manager, and his side next face a Champions League quarter-final first leg with Liverpool on Tuesday night. body check tags ::
