Jose Mourinho has emerged as a shock possible contender for the Celtic manager's job following his Tottenham Hotspur exit.

Spurs announced Mourinho's departure on Monday, less than 18 months after his appointment and with under a week to go until their EFL Cup final clash with Manchester City.

The 58-year-old has already indicated that he is keen on a swift return to management, and that could possibly be with dethroned Scottish champions Celtic.

Mourinho has entered the bookies' market for the position at Celtic Park, which has been vacant since Neil Lennon departed in February.

Betfair have the Portuguese at 12/1 to be the next Bhoys boss, with Eddie Howe still the clear favourite.

Lucien Favre, Roy Keane and Manchester City academy manager Enzo Maresca are also believed to be in the running. body check tags ::
