Gareth Bale has reportedly expressed his disappointment at being left out of the Real Madrid squad for their win against Villarreal this weekend.

Zinedine Zidane's side won 3-2 at the Santiago Bernabeu as Mariano scored a brace, marking their first La Liga victory in three games.

Bale, who started in last weekend's 1-0 loss away to Rayo Vallecano, was absent from the squad, fuelling rumours that the 29-year-old could leave Los Blancos this summer.

According to Marca, Bale is hurt by Zidane's decision to not include him at the weekend despite Karim Benzema being ruled out with injury.

"He is very sad about this situation," someone close to his inner circle reportedly explained.

Bale has been linked with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain amid reports of his likely exit this year.
