Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of their Spanish Super Cup final with Real Madrid.
Sports Mole

Barcelona will have the chance to retain the Spanish Super Cup trophy when they face Clasico rivals Real Madrid in Sunday's final at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Catalan giants dispatched Osasuna via a 2-0 scoreline in Thursday's semi-final clash thanks to second-half goals from Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal.

Xavi will be hoping that his team can offer a repeat of last year's final when they produced a dominant performance to claim a 3-1 victory over Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Los Blancos, who required extra time to beat Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

Joao Cancelo

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Joao Cancelo is likely to lose his bid to prove his fitness ahead of Sunday's final, with the full-back currently recovering from a knee issue that he picked up in Barcelona's league win over Las Palmas earlier this month.

Raphinha

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Barcelona will be unable to call upon Raphinha after the Brazilian winger was forced off against Osasuna with a hamstring injury, and early estimates suggest that he could be sidelined for around a month.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Status: Out
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: Unknown

Marc-Andre ter Stegen has not featured for Barcelona since playing in a 2-1 win over Alaves in November, but after undergoing surgery to resolve an ongoing back issue, the goalkeeper is making progress in his recovery and could even return before the end of the month.

Inigo Martinez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Inigo Martinez is expected to miss a second straight game after he was withdrawn within 11 minutes of his return from injury in last Sunday's Copa del Rey tie against Barbastro.

Gavi

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Gavi sustained a serious knee injury in Spain's Euro 2024 qualifier against Georgia in November, and the 19-year-old midfielder will miss the remainder of the campaign as he works on his rehabilitation.

Marcos Alonso

Status: Out
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: Unknown

The club confirmed earlier this month that Marcos Alonso had undergone surgery to treat a persistent back issue, and it could still be at least a couple of months before he returns to full fitness.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Barcelona have no players suspended for this contest.
