PSG's Marco Verratti at risk of five-game ban for referee comments?

Paris Saint-Germain's Marco Verratti could reportedly face a five-game ban due to comments made towards the officials after Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Nantes.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti is reportedly at risk of being slapped with a five-game ban for his comments towards referee Mikael Lesage and other officials in Saturday's defeat to Nantes.

Mauricio Pochettino's men were blown away by Les Canaris at the Stade de la Beaujoire, as Ludovic Blas, Quentin Merlin and Randal Kolo Muani struck in a 3-1 success for Nantes.

PSG were awarded a penalty when Kylian Mbappe was felled by Dennis Appiah - who managed to escape a second yellow card - but Neymar's incredibly tame effort was held by Alban Lafont.

Both Verratti and sporting director Leonardo made their frustrations known at full-time, with the Italian midfielder claiming that his side were "sh*t on by the referees".

According to L'Equipe - via GFFN - Verratti will now face the disciplinary commission due to his comments, where he will be given the opportunity to explain himself.

The report adds that a five-game ban could follow for Verratti, and a longer suspension is not out of the question depending on the outcome of the disciplinary hearing.

Verratti has made 22 appearances for Les Parisiens in all tournaments this season, scoring two goals and setting up one more in Ligue 1, where he has been booked 10 times in 15 matches.
