Tottenham Hotspur to sign Raheem Sterling?

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly lead the way to sign Manchester City star Raheem Sterling in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly taken a lead in the race to sign Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling this summer.

Following the announcement of the Citizens' signing of striker Erling Braut Haaland, Sterling's position at the Etihad Stadium has come under further questioning, and he has now been heavily linked with a departure.

According to Football London, the Lilywhites stand ahead of other clubs in the race to sign the 27-year-old, who has been afforded 22 Premier League starts for Pep Guardiola's team this season.

They are said to face competition, though, with north London rivals Arsenal also touted with a move, although the Gunners are more heavily linked with an approach for Citizens frontman Gabriel Jesus.

Such interest follows manager Antonio Conte outlining his desire to improve his squad at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the Italian said to have presented a list of prime targets for the summer.

Despite battling for opportunities under Guardiola, the Englishman has managed to hit the net 12 times in the English top flight so far this campaign, taking his tally to 108 career goals alongside 75 assists in the competition, while he has also scored 19 times in 74 caps for England.
