How Poland could line up against Argentina

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Poland could line up for Wednesday's 2022 World Cup Group C clash with Argentina

Poland head coach Czeslaw Michniewicz is expected to name an unchanged starting lineup for their final World Cup 2022 Group C fixture against Argentina on Wednesday.

After playing out a goalless draw with Mexico in their opening game, Michniewicz made three changes to his side against Saudi Arabia on Saturday, with the Poles going on to secure a 2-0 victory courtesy of strikes from Piotr Zielinski and Robert Lewandowski.

Indeed, Lewandowski netted his first-ever World Cup goal to wrap up the three points and the veteran Barcelona striker is likely to be joined in attack again by Arkadiusz Milik.

Birmingham City's Krystian Bielik was brought into Poland's first XI for the win over Saudi Arabia and he could keep his place in centre-midfield alongside Grzegorz Krychowiak, with Zielinski and Przemyslaw Frankowski operating in wide areas.

A back four of Matty Cash, Kamil Glik, Jakub Kiwior and Bartosz Bereszynski is set to remain intact, shielding goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny who saved a first-half penalty in the win over Saudi Arabia.

Jakub Kaminski and Krzysztof Piatek, who both came off the bench last time out, are set to begin as substitutes again on Wednesday, although the latter will be pushing Milik for a start up front.

Poland possible starting lineup: Szczesny; Cash, Glik, Kiwior, Bereszynski; Zielinski, Bielik, Krychowiak, Frankowski; Milik, Lewandowski
