Norwich City sign goalkeeper Tim Krul on free transfer

Norwich City announce that they have completed the signing of goalkeeper Tim Krul on a two-year contract.

Norwich City have completed the signing of goalkeeper Tim Krul on a free transfer.

Krul has endured a frustrating period since losing his spot between the sticks at Newcastle United, and spent the most recent campaign as second-choice stopper at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Dutchman was released by the Seagulls earlier this summer, but a two-year contract has now been agreed with Championship outfit Norwich.

The 30-year-old told the club's official website: "I spoke with the manager and people at the club and it moved very quick. That's one of the reasons it happened fast and I like it when somebody is interested properly and they don't mess about.

"The manager rang and explained everything – what his plans were, what he expected of me – and I really liked what I was hearing. The manager said he knew what my qualities were and that he was keen to get me back to the level I was at before my injury.

"It's a new start. It feels like a new kick-start in my career. I've done what I've done and I just can't wait to show what I'm worth on the pitch again."

Canaries head coach Daniel Farke had been looking for a new goalkeeper, with Angus Gunn having left the club after the completion of his season-long loan deal.
