Manchester United are reportedly still interested in signing Stoke City defender Nathan Collins.

The Red Devils were linked with a swoop for the 18-year-old, who was handed his league debut for the Potters at the start of April, during the summer transfer window.

Collins ultimately remained at the bet365 Stadium, and the teenager has made four Championship appearances this season - including captaining the side against Leeds United last month.

According to ESPN FC, despite failing to secure a summer move for the centre-back, United are still interested in bringing the Under-19 Republic of Ireland international to Old Trafford.

Collins is believed to have come personally recommended by former United midfielder Darren Fletcher, who reportedly watched him closely during his time with Stoke.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, who are fourth in the Premier League table, will open their Europa League Group L campaign at home to Astana on Thursday night.
