Manchester City and Liverpool are reportedly among a number of clubs interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Daichi Kamada at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old's contract with Frankfurt is due to expire at the end of June, and it is understood that the Japan international is preparing to leave his current side on a free transfer.

Manchester United are thought to be admirers of the attacker, with a report claiming that the Red Devils contacted his German club in January to discuss a possible move.

According to 90min, a number of leading clubs in European football are keeping a close eye on Kamada's situation with a view to signing him on a free transfer.

The report claims that Man City and Liverpool are both keen on the attacker, while Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are closely monitoring his form.

Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be keeping an eye on his contract situation in the event that he becomes available on a free transfer.

Kamada has been in strong form for Frankfurt during the 2022-23 campaign, featuring on 27 occasions in all competitions, contributing 13 goals and five assists in the process.

In the Bundesliga, the Japan international has scored seven goals and registered five assists in 17 appearances, while he netted three times in the group stage of the Champions League.

Kamada's ability to play in a number of different positions is believed to make him an even more attractive proposition for interested clubs.

Man United's midfield injuries allegedly led to Erik ten Hag's side approaching Frankfurt in January to discuss Kamada, even after securing a loan deal for Marcel Sabitzer.

Meanwhile, Man City and Liverpool are believed to be keen to freshen up their midfield options for the 2023-24 campaign, with both teams having problems in that area of the field this season.

Kamada was in action for his country at the 2022 World Cup, featuring on four occasions in Qatar, with Japan reaching the last-16 stage of the tournament.

The attacker started his professional career with Sagan Tosu in 2015, spending two years with the Japanese club ahead of a switch to Frankfurt, and he has represented the Bundesliga outfit on 159 occasions in all competitions, contributing 37 goals and 31 assists in the process. body check tags ::
