Chelsea have reportedly set a £50m asking price on Mason Mount amid links with Liverpool and Manchester United.

The Chelsea academy graduate has made 192 appearances for the first team, scoring 33 goals and providing 37 assists.

Mount has less than 18 months remaining on his current contract, and talks over a new deal appear to have reached a stalemate.

The England international is hoping to treble his current wages to around £240,000 a week, which would bring him in line with the club's highest earners.

Mount is also reluctant to agree to a seven or eight-year deal, which has been common practice since the club's takeover last summer.

With contract talks struggling to find a resolution, Chelsea have put negotiations over a new deal on hold until the end of the season.

The current uncertainty surrounding Mount's future at Stamford Bridge has alerted a number of clubs, who are considering a summer move.

Man United and Liverpool are believed to be among those who are interested in signing the midfielder, while Newcastle United have also entered the race for Mount's signature.

According to The Mirror, the Blues would be looking to receive a £50m fee if they decide to sanction a sale in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly wants to learn from the mistakes of the previous ownership, who allowed players to enter the final 12 months of their deals.

Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen joined Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively last summer after they departed Chelsea on free transfers.

Mount has scored three goals and provided six assists in 32 competitive appearances this season, but he has only started one of his previous four appearances.

The midfielder was suspended for Tuesday's Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund, but he has been struggling with an abdominal injury, which kept him out of last Saturday's league victory against Leeds United.

The midfielder will hope to recover in time for Saturday's Premier League meeting with Leicester City, where Chelsea will attempt to claim a third consecutive victory in all competitions.
