Manchester United prepare to hand Bruno Fernandes a new contract worth £200,000 a week, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to hand Bruno Fernandes a new contract worth £200,000 a week, with the club keen to reward the attacker for his performances since arriving at Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old has again been in excellent form for the Red Devils during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring 22 times and registering 13 assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.

According to The Sun, Fernandes is only the seventh-best player at the club, having been awarded a £100,000-a-week contract upon his arrival from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020.

The report claims that Man United want to hand the Portugal international a fresh £200,000-a-week deal, which will include various extras based on appearances, goals and trophies.

Fernandes, who is allegedly admired by Barcelona and Real Madrid, has scored 34 goals and registered 21 assists in 62 appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, including 23 goals and 18 assists in 41 Premier League outings.

The Portuguese's current deal at Old Trafford is due to run until June 2025.
