Ajax manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly named on a four-man shortlist of possible successors for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.

Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has reportedly emerged as a candidate to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.

Solskjaer is now expected to remain in charge for Saturday's Premier League battle with Tottenham Hotspur, but the under-fire Norwegian is under more pressure than ever following the weekend's 5-0 humiliation at the hands of Liverpool.

Antonio Conte is rumoured to be the frontrunner to succeed Solskjaer at Old Trafford, but talks are not thought to have taken place between the two parties yet.

Now, The Sun claims that Ten Hag is also on a four-man shortlist of candidates to take the reins at United, with Brendan Rodgers and Zinedine Zidane also being eyed up by Old Trafford chiefs.

Ten Hag has guided Ajax to two Eredivisie titles and a Champions League semi-final since taking over in 2017, and he extended his contract with the Dutch giants until 2023 earlier this year.

Newcastle United are also reported to be seeking the services of Ten Hag as a potential replacement for Steve Bruce, with the 51-year-old overseeing 134 wins from 181 games in charge of Ajax. body check tags ::
