New Manchester United chief executive Richard Arnold is allegedly keen for Ajax manager Erik ten Hag to become the club's new head coach.

Mauricio Pochettino continues to be linked with the position at Old Trafford, and a recent report claimed that the majority of the Man United players want the Paris Saint-Germain boss to take on the role.

However, Ten Hag is also believed to be in the frame due to his impressive work at Ajax, with the Dutchman said to be the preferred choice of current interim head coach Ralf Rangnick.

According to The Sun, new Man United chief executive Arnold is also backing Ten Hag to become the club's permanent manager from the start of the 2022-23 campaign.

The report claims that Rangnick has been pushing to convince the 20-time English champions that the Ajax manager should be the number one choice for the role.

Ten Hag's contract with Ajax is due to run until June 2023, but there have been claims that the Dutchman is open to taking on the role at Old Trafford at the end of this season. body check tags ::
