Manchester United duo Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund were both forced off the field during Saturday's 1-0 win over Luton Town at Old Trafford.

Victor Lindelof's 59th-minute strike secured all three points for the Red Devils in the Premier League affair, with the result moving Erik ten Hag's side into sixth position in the table.

The victory has seemingly come at a cost, though, as Eriksen was forced off in the 40th minute of the contest with what appeared to be a knee problem.

Hojlund, who is still waiting for his first Premier League goal, then held his hamstring in the latter stages of the match before ultimately being replaced by Anthony Martial.

Ten Hag said after the match that the duo would now need to be assessed to determine the extent of the problems, with Eriksen's issue, at this stage, seemingly worse than the one suffered by Hojlund.

"In this moment, I can't comment anything about it because I don't know the assessment," the Manchester Evening News quotes Ten Hag as saying when asked about the duo.

"You have to wait 24 hours. Give them and the medical (team) 24 hours to see what is the problem, if there is a problem.

"That is our season; so many injuries. Therefore, you have a squad, but we have talked many times about it. Hopefully players are coming back and those new injuries aren't too bad."

Man United revealed on Friday evening that Jonny Evans will be missing for the next few weeks due to the thigh issue that he suffered against Copenhagen in the Champions League last week.

Meanwhile, Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez are both out until at least Christmas with thigh and foot injuries respectively.

Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw and Amad Diallo are also absentees at this moment in time, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka was not involved against Luton due to illness.

"It is a good day. We needed the win and we got it but we could make life more easy by scoring early on and getting a second," Ten Hag told BBC Sport after the clash with Luton.

"We created the chances but we didn't score apart from one. I am happy with that and I am happy with the clean sheet."

Man United have now won back-to-back matches in the Premier League, and they will be bidding to put another three points on the board when they travel to Everton after the international break. body check tags ::
