Marcus Rashford creates history in Manchester United's clash with Luton Town

Marcus Rashford becomes the youngest Manchester United player to reach 250 Premier League appearances for the club.

Marcus Rashford has become the youngest Manchester United player to reach 250 Premier League appearances for the club at the age of 26 years and 11 days old.

The England international has found it difficult to make his mark for the 20-time English champions this season, finding the back of the net on just one occasion, which came away to Arsenal at the start of September.

Rashford was sent off in the first half of Man United's 4-3 defeat to Copenhagen in the Champions League last week, but he kept his spot in the XI for Saturday's clash with Luton Town at Old Trafford.

The forward has now made 250 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils and has become the youngest-ever player to reach that landmark for the club.

Rashford has beaten Ryan Giggs by 156 days to set a new record for the Manchester giants.

The 26-year-old, ahead of the Luton match, had registered 124 goals and registered 71 assists in 374 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.

Rashford's Premier League record, meanwhile, stood at 77 goals and 45 assists in 249 appearances before he took to the field for the contest with the promoted outfit.

The forward was in outstanding form for Man United last season, scoring 30 goals and registering 11 assists in 56 appearances in all competitions.

Rashford signed a new long-term deal with the Red Devils over the summer, but he has found it difficult to make his mark during the current season.

The attacker has again started on the right against Luton, with Alejandro Garnacho retaining his spot on the left due to his positive performances in the team's last two matches.

Victor Lindelof and Sergio Reguilon have also been introduced into the side, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka missing out through illness, while Jonny Evans is on the sidelines with a thigh problem.

Rasmus Hojlund made it five Champions League goals for the campaign with a brace against Copenhagen on Wednesday, but he is still waiting for his first league goal of the season.

Man United will be bidding to secure all three points in their final match ahead of the November international break before returning to action against Everton on November 26.

Erik ten Hag's side will then head to Galatasaray three days later for a must-win Champions League contest, before beginning December away to Newcastle United in the Premier League.
