How Liverpool could line up against Brighton & Hove Albion

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Sunday's FA Cup fourth-round clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could be without as many as seven players for Sunday's FA Cup fourth-round clash with Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

Fabio Carvalho, Virgil van Dijk, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Arthur will all watch this one from the sidelines, while out-of-favour defender Nat Phillips is facing a race against time to fight off a nasty cold.

Klopp has witnessed his side keep back-to-back clean sheets in their last two games, one of which came with Caoimhin Kelleher in goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and the Ireland shot-stopper can expect to displace Alisson Becker here.

James Milner will likely make way for a refreshed Trent Alexander-Arnold, but there is no reason for Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate and Andrew Robertson to lose their places.

The same goes for Stefan Bajcetic, who has started both of Liverpool's last two games over Fabinho and was recently rewarded with a new long-term contract until the summer of 2027.

The 18-year-old has surely done enough to keep his spot here alongside compatriot Thiago Alcantara, and Klopp may opt for Jordan Henderson as his final engine room member if another experienced head is preferred alongside Bajcetic.

Darwin Nunez only came off the bench in last weekend's goalless draw with Chelsea following a muscular problem, but the Uruguayan should now force his way back in alongside Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Konate, Robertson; Thiago, Bajcetic, Henderson; Salah, Nunez, Gakpo body check tags ::
