Sports Mole provides score predictions for this weekend's Championship fixtures, including Nottingham Forest vs. Leeds United.

Bristol City vs. Birmingham (Friday, 7.45pm)

Bristol City play host to Birmingham City on Friday night with the opportunity to move into third position in the Championship table.

Meanwhile, the Blues make the trip to Ashton Gate looking to extend their eight-point margin above the relegation zone.

We say: Bristol City 3-1 Birmingham City

Despite Birmingham's impressive success last weekend, we have to back Bristol to extend their winning streak. While there have been times when Johnson's side have underperformed in games against the lower clubs, we feel that those disappointments will stand them in good stead ahead of this contest.

Wigan vs. Preston (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Relegation-threatened Wigan Athletic host playoff-chasing Preston North End at the DW Stadium on Saturday as they look to build on back-to-back wins and steer themselves to safety.

Preston, however, are just three points behind sixth-placed Bristol City in the Championship table and will see this fixture as an opportunity to keep the pressure on the teams ahead of them.

We say: Wigan Athletic 1-1 Preston North End

Given Wigan's last two results and Preston's poor record away from home, it's possible that Cook's side will manage to battle to a share of the points against another high-flying opponent.

Barnsley vs. Sheffield Wednesday (Saturday, 1.30pm)

Goal-difference alone keeps Barnsley off the foot of the table as they prepare to host Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon.

After an upsurge in form, the relegation strugglers have slipped back into their old ways and are in dire form, with Wednesday hoping to capitalise and build some momentum of their own.

We say: Barnsley 1-2 Sheffield Wednesday

Both sides are in poor form but Wednesday are clearly the superior outfit and should claim a much-needed victory over their struggling opponents.

Blackburn vs. Fulham (Saturday, 3pm)

Playoff-chasing Blackburn Rovers host third-placed Fulham as two sides in good form clash at Ewood Park on Saturday.

Both sides are unbeaten in four league games and will be looking to extend their respective runs as they chase promotion.

We say: Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Fulham

Two good sides in good form meet in this one and, while Fulham have the edge in personnel and quality, Blackburn's home advantage may be just enough for both teams to cancel each other out and maintain their respective unbeaten runs.

Brentford vs. Middlesbrough (Saturday, 3pm)

Brentford welcome Middlesbrough to Griffin Park in the Championship on Saturday, with the home side just five points adrift of the automatic promotion places.

Middlesbrough, on the other hand, are just seven points clear of the relegation zone, although a win on Saturday could see them climb as high as 14th.

We say: Brentford 2-1 Middlesbrough

Brentford have been an exciting side to watch all season and while their home run has now come to an end, they are still favourites for this match. The potential absence of Benrahma is a blow, but Boro are still unlikely to have enough to hold off their formidable attack.

Huddersfield vs. QPR (Saturday, 3pm)

Huddersfield Town and Queens Park Rangers face off in the Championship on Saturday at the John Smith's Stadium, in a crucial meeting between two sides still not clear of the relegation zone.

Neither team is coming into the match in top form, with Huddersfield have won just one of their last five Championship fixtures and QPR only two of their last nine.

We say: Huddersfield Town 1-1 Queens Park Rangers

This is set up to be a tight match, with neither side excelling in recent weeks. The loss of Wells and doubts over Hugill will likely limit QPR's attacking capabilities and therefore a draw is probably the most likely outcome.

Luton vs. Cardiff (Saturday, 3pm)

Luton Town welcome Cardiff City to Kenilworth Road on Saturday, in a vital fixture for the Championship's bottom side.

Cardiff too have plenty to play for and are still within touching distance of the playoffs, but a run of one win in five matches has left them on the back foot.

We say: Luton Town 0-1 Cardiff City

Cardiff have not been in the best form of late, but with the playoffs still a distinct possibility they should have just about enough to see off this struggling Luton side.

Reading vs. Hull (Saturday, 3pm)

Hull City will be looking to triumph for the first time since the start of January when they travel to Reading in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers have lost each of their last five matches in all competitions, although they are still one position above 15th-placed Reading in the Championship table heading into the next set of fixtures.

We say: Reading 1-1 Hull City

The Championship table suggests that there is not too much between these two teams, while neither will enter the match in the best of form. We are really struggling to separate them on the afternoon and are therefore backing a low-scoring draw at the Madejski Stadium.

Stoke vs. Charlton (Saturday, 3pm)

Stoke City play host to Charlton Athletic on Saturday afternoon looking to move clear of the Championship relegation zone.

Meanwhile, the visitors sit in 19th position in the standings, just four points ahead of their opponents at the weekend.

We say: Stoke City 2-1 Charlton Athletic

Given the high stakes, this has all the makings of a closely-fought contest. While the visitors would be content with a point, we feel that Stoke's greater motivation to claim victory could prove to be decisive come the full-time whistle.

Swansea vs. Derby (Saturday, 3pm)

Swansea City head into their meeting with Derby County on Saturday afternoon sitting four points adrift of the Championship playoff places.

While the Rams make the long trip to the Liberty Stadium in 13th position, Phillip Cocu will be encouraged by the team's performances since the arrival of Wayne Rooney.

We say: Swansea City 1-1 Derby County

With both teams being indifferent in the final third this season, we feel that this fixture could end as a low-scoring draw, a result which would not really benefit either side in their bid to make the playoffs.

Nottingham Forest vs. Leeds (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Nottingham Forest take on Leeds United at the City Ground on Saturday evening with the opportunity to close the gap on the second-placed Yorkshire giants to just one point.

As for the visitors, they make the trip to the East Midlands having lost three of their last four matches in the Championship.

We say: Nottingham Forest 2-1 Leeds United

With Leeds performing as they are, we cannot back them to pick up any points this weekend. While Forest were stunned by Birmingham in their last outing, Lamouchi will expect a positive response from his team at the City Ground.

Millwall vs. West Brom (Sunday, 1.30pm)

League leaders West Bromwich Albion travel to the Den to face Millwall in their next Championship game on Sunday.

The Baggies will be hoping to maintain their position at the top of the table with a win, but the London outfit have lost just twice at home in the league this season.

We say: Millwall 0-1 West Bromwich Albion

The Den is a difficult place to visit, but West Brom have the best away record in the league and the Championship leaders may just edge their way to an important win.
