Inter Milan: 'No return for Jose Mourinho'

Inter Milan insist that Jose Mourinho will not be returning to the Italian club as head coach.

Inter Milan have insisted that Jose Mourinho will not be returning to the club as head coach.

Mourinho is currently without a job following his exit from Manchester United, and it had been suggested that he could return to Inter as a replacement for Luciano Spalletti.

The Portuguese won two Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia and the Champions League during his time in charge of the Italian giants.

Spalletti's future with Inter was reportedly under threat with the team 14 points adrift of Serie A leaders Juventus, in addition to failing to make the knockout round of the Champions League.

However, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has played down the Mourinho speculation.

"Mourinho? He is not a shadow," Ausilio told Sky Sport Italia. "It does not surprise me that we talk about him in a time when media and everyone need to say something.

"We work in a more rational way. Our project has been ongoing for a year-and-a-half with Spalletti and will go on with him for many years."

Argentine giants Boca Juniors are said to be keen for Mourinho to become their new head coach.
