Fenerbahce are reportedly in the process of putting together a financial package to sign Mesut Ozil on loan from Arsenal.

The German playmaker was in and out of the Gunners' starting lineup last season amid concerns from boss Unai Emery over his work ethic.

Ozil has insisted that he is happy at Arsenal and does not want to move away this summer, but Emery is supposedly keen to offload him in order to get his high wages off the books and free up some money.

Fanatik reports that Ozil's boyhood club Fenerbahce are the side best positioned to sign him, despite his mammoth wages proving a sticking point.

It is suggested that the Turkish giants have drawn up a plan that would see them to take the 30-year-old on loan by paying £8m towards his £13.5m-per-season salary.

Arsenal would still have to pay the remaining £5.5m, but it is claimed that Emery is open to the idea of partially-offloading the former Real Madrid ace.
