Saturday's FA Cup predictions including Southampton vs. Arsenal

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Saturday's FA Cup fourth round ties, including Southampton vs. Arsenal.

Southampton vs. Arsenal (Saturday, 12.15pm)

One of the standout ties in the fourth round of the FA Cup will take place at St Mary's on Saturday afternoon as Southampton welcome fellow Premier League club Arsenal.

Southampton beat Shrewsbury Town 2-0 on Tuesday night to book their spot in round four, while Arsenal advanced courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United earlier this month.

We say: Southampton 2-1 Arsenal

Arsenal's recent form and history in the FA Cup must be respected, but Southampton have been excellent for much of the campaign. Hasenhuttl is likely to select a strong XI for this weekend's contest, and we fancy the Saints to edge a tight encounter, eliminating the hosts in the process, to set up a fifth-round clash with either Chorley or Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Brighton vs. Blackpool (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Brighton & Hove Albion will be looking to advance to the last-16 stage of the FA Cup when they welcome Blackpool to the Amex on Saturday afternoon.

The Seagulls booked their spot in the fourth round courtesy of a penalty-shootout victory over Newport County, while Blackpool have overcome Eastbourne Borough, Harrogate Town and West Bromwich Albion to progress to this stage of the competition.

We say: Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 Blackpool

Blackpool will be looking to claim another Premier League scalp this weekend, but we are struggling to look past Brighton, who are expected to name a strong XI. The visitors could make it tough, but Potter's side should ultimately have enough to edge their way into the last-16 stage of the FA Cup.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Sheff Utd vs. Plymouth (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Sheffield United welcome Plymouth Argyle to Bramall Lane on Saturday afternoon with a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup on the line.

The Blades have had a dismal Premier League campaign to date but beat Bristol Rovers 3-2 in the last round, while Plymouth saw off Huddersfield Town by the same scoreline.

The winners of this tie will take on either Millwall or Bristol City in the next round.

We say: Sheffield United 3-1 Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth knocked out Championship opposition in the last round and will now be looking to claim the scalp of a Premier League side.

The League One outfit enter this game in decent form, whereas United have won just two matches all season, but we are still backing the hosts to come out on top assuming they field a strong side.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Swansea vs. Nott'm Forest (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Swansea City face fellow Championship side Nottingham Forest at the Liberty Stadium in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

The Swans beat Stevenage 2-0 to progress to this stage, while Forest - 21 points worse off than their opponents in the league - eliminated Cardiff City with a 1-0 victory.

The winners of this tie will face either Cheltenham Town or Manchester City for a place in the quarter-finals.

We say: Swansea City 3-1 Nottingham Forest

Swansea have been far superior to Forest in the Championship this season and beat the Reds when they last met in November.

The Welsh side have also had some extra rest heading into this fourth-round tie, all of which points towards a home victory on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Barnsley vs. Norwich (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Championship leaders Norwich City take a break from league action on Saturday afternoon with an FA Cup fourth-round tie at Barnsley.

While the Canaries sit seven points clear at the top of the second-tier standings, the Tykes have dropped down to 11th position after three successive defeats.

We say: Barnsley 1-2 Norwich City

While both clubs will make changes for this contest, we feel that can only play into the hands of the visitors. Their squad possesses greater strength in depth than their hosts, and the Canaries should be good value for a narrow win at Oakwell.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Millwall vs. Bristol City (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Championship sides Millwall and Bristol City square off on Saturday afternoon looking to earn a place in the FA Cup fifth round.

The visitors hold a seven-point and seven-place advantage over their hosts on the league front, despite their contrasting results during the latest batch of fixtures in midweek.

We say: Millwall 2-1 Bristol City

While both clubs will be focused on league matters, the prize money and television revenue on offer means that another win in this competition would be beneficial. We expect a hard-fought affair which will be decided in extra time, leading us to give the edge to the home side.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

West Ham vs. Doncaster (Saturday, 3.00pm)

West Ham United will be looking to advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup when they welcome Doncaster Rovers to the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Hammers will enter the match off the back of four straight wins, while Doncaster have been victorious in their last three, including a 1-0 success at Blackburn Rovers in the third round of the FA Cup.

We say: West Ham United 2-1 Doncaster Rovers

Doncaster's recent form must be respected, and there is every reason to believe that the visitors will prove tricky opposition for West Ham. The Hammers are on a bit of a roll at the moment, though, and we expect them to advance to the fifth round of the competition courtesy of a 2-1 success.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Cheltenham vs. Man City (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Cheltenham Town will be looking to pull off an almighty upset when they welcome Manchester City to Whaddon Road in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Premier League giants City eased past Birmingham City with a 3-0 win in the last round, while Cheltenham needed extra time to overcome Mansfield Town 2-1.

The winners of this tie will take on either Swansea City or Nottingham Forest for a place in the quarter-finals.

We say: Cheltenham Town 0-3 Manchester City

Even accounting for the changes Guardiola is expected to make this weekend, it is difficult to see past anything other than a routine away victory.

Cheltenham are unbeaten in five matches, but City have won nine in a row and will surely keep that run going at Whaddon Road on Saturday evening.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
