Miranda Hart denies a report that she has planned out a fourth series of Miranda.

Miranda Hart has denied a report claiming that she has already written a fourth series of Miranda.

The slapstick comedy ran for three series and two specials on the BBC between 2009 and 2015 - and Hart has previously insisted that the final episode was the last.

However, a report in The Sun claims that she has already penned a new series and even contains a quote attributed to her, in which she is alleged to have said: "A lot of lovely people have kept on asking for the return of Miranda so here we are and I hope everyone likes it."

Hart took to Twitter today to deny having made the quote, writing: "It's so lovely when some people get excited there might be more Miranda. Means a lot.

"But I'm afraid what was in papers today didn't come from me. Nothing planned at this time."

At its peak the show drew an audience in excess of 11.5 million viewers.
