UKTV announces that W will launch on Freeview channel 25 next Monday.

UKTV has confirmed that W will become a free-to-air channel from next Monday, March 28.

The station, which is primarily aimed at women aged 25 to 44, has also been given a new logo and on-air refresh to mark the move.

On Freeview, W will be available on channel 25, with Dave Ja Vu moving to replace Drama+1 on channel 74.

"We are confident that we've spotted a gap in the free-to-air market for W to fill; providing premium entertainment for people with busy lives who want to engage with shows that shine a spotlight on personal stories from everyday lives," said Steve North, UKTV's genre general manager for comedy and entertainment.

"W's launch on UKTV's direct-to-consumer VOD service, UKTV Play, will also mean that shows are more accessible than ever."

W will also launch on Freesat on the same date.
