The Denver Broncos release tight end James Casey following Derek Wolfe's return from suspension.

The Denver Broncos have released tight end James Casey to reduce their roster to 53 men.

Defensive end Derek Wolfe returned from a four-game suspension on Monday and the Broncos had a roster exemption to assess his fitness levels.

Casey had trained on Friday but coach Gary Kubiak elected to release him to make room for Wolfe's return.

Thirty-one-year-old Casey failed to make a reception in the opening four games of the season.
