The Football Association has condemned the "unacceptable" behaviour of England supporters attending the friendly with Netherlands in Amsterdam.

More than a hundred travelling fans were arrested across two days in the Dutch capital ahead of the Three Lions' 1-0 win at the Amsterdam ArenA.

A number of those detained were involved in clashes with local police in the city centre, while inside the ground some booed the home side's national anthem.

England boss Gareth Southgate hit out at those involved in the disturbing scenes when probed after the victory, and the FA has now vowed to find those responsible and issue bans.

"We condemn the unacceptable scenes in Amsterdam," a statement read on Twitter. "As was reiterated ahead of the fixture, we always urge supporters to respect our hosts and behave in a responsible manner.

"As ever, the FA will work in partnership with the UK Football Policing Unit to help identify those involved and we will sanction any England Supporters Travel Club member found to be responsible for disorder."

England return to action on Tuesday night with a friendly against Italy at Wembley Stadium.
