Wolverhampton Wanderers 'lining up Alfie Mawson bid'

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly preparing a bid for Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly preparing a bid for Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson.

The 24-year-old, who appeared in every Premier League game for the South Wales club last season, has been linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium following their relegation.

Following West Ham United's rejected bid for the centre-back, the Daily Mail says that Wolves will now line up an approach for the player.

The newspaper adds that Swansea value Mawson at around £20m, with the Hammers' initial bid reportedly falling below that price tag.

Mawson, who signed for Swansea from Barnsley in 2016, has two years left on his current deal.
