West Ham United 'keen on Genoa defender Armando Izzo'

West Ham United reportedly line up a summer bid for Genoa defender Armando Izzo.

West Ham United are allegedly aiming to recruit Genoa defender Armando Izzo during the summer transfer window.

Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is ready to rival a host of Serie A clubs for the centre-back's signature, according to Sky Sports News.

Pellegrini is said to be keen to bolster his defence over the summer and Izzo, who is under contract with Genoa until 2020, is reportedly among his top targets.

The Chilean coach has also added Barcelona central defender Marlon Santos, who spent last season on loan at Nice, to his shopping list, according to the same source.

The former Manchester City boss previously confirmed that he is aiming to add "four or five" players to his squad this summer.
