Watford to move for Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour?

Watford are reportedly preparing to make an offer for Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour, who continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League.

Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour is allegedly attracting interest from Watford.

Soon after the end of last season, Newcastle United were linked with a move for the Tunisian international, who was limited to just 13 La Liga appearances during that campaign.

However, the Magpies have not backed up their initial interest and according to Sky Sports News, Watford are ready to step in to try to sign the 27-year-old.

Hornets boss Marco Silva has already brought in the likes of Nathaniel Chalobah and Will Hughes to strengthen his midfield, but he has seemingly now turned his focus to his defence.

Before moving to Valencia in 2015, Abdennour enjoyed a spell with AS Monaco, with his one and only goal for the club coming during a Champions League fixture against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Valencia are open to him leaving the Mestalla should they receive a suitable offer for his signature.
