Report: Chris Coleman holds informal talks with Football Association of Wales

A report claims that Chris Coleman has held informal talks with the Football Association of Wales about his future as Dragons manager.

Chris Coleman has reportedly held informal talks with the Football Association of Wales about his future as Dragons manager.

Wales failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup as a 1-0 defeat to the Republic of Ireland in their final qualifier denied them a playoff spot.

After the match, the 47-year-old revealed that he wanted to take some time before deciding on whether or not to continue on as manager of his national side.

According to Sky Sports News, Coleman met with FAW officials this week to discuss the nation's World Cup qualifying campaign, though his contract was also the subject of discussion.

The FAW wants Coleman to extend his deal beyond November, while some leading Wales players have also urged the former Fulham boss to stay.

Coleman, who took over as Wales manager in 2012, guided the Dragons to a historic semi-final at Euro 2016.
