Swansea City boss Carlos Carvalhal: 'We still believe in Tammy Abraham'

Swansea City boss Carlos Carvalhal says that the club still have belief in Tammy Abraham, despite the striker dropping out of the starting lineup in recent weeks.

Swansea City boss Carlos Carvalhal has admitted that Tammy Abraham will get more opportunities in the first team in the coming weeks.

Over the weekend, Wilfried Bony suffered a serious knee injury and it has left Carvalhal short of a striker at a time when the club are attempting to remain in the Premier League.

Injury and form has restricted Abraham to just 127 minutes of football since Carvalhal arrived at the Liberty Stadium, but the Chelsea loanee will be given regular action for the rest of the campaign.

The 52-year-old is quoted by the club's official website: "Tammy Abraham is an interesting player. Wilfried's injury will give more opportunities to him and he is someone we believe in a lot.

"We liked him last season when he was scoring a lot of goals in the Championship. He has quality, a lot of pace and he is a good finisher.

"He is a very good talent and we will try to help him give the maximum to the team."

Abraham has contributed four goals and one assist in 20 Premier League appearances this season.
