Stoke City announce arrival of Jese Rodriguez from PSG on season-long loan

Stoke City announce the signing of Jese Rodriguez on a season-long loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain.

Stoke City have announced the signing of Jese Rodriguez on a season-long loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Potters revealed the news in a video on Twitter, and criticised former player Marko Arnautovic in the process.

The Spaniard joined PSG from Real Madrid in 2016, but he struggled to hold down a place in the first team due to lack of form and injury woes.

Jese was sent out on loan to Las Palmas for the second half of last season, scoring three goals and producing one assist in 16 La Liga appearances.

The forward, who won two Champions League crowns at Madrid, has now decided to test himself in the Premier League with Stoke.

Chief executive Tony Scholes told the club's official website: "Jese was a man in demand when PSG made it clear they would allow him to leave on loan and we're delighted he has chosen to join us.

"He hasn't had the happiest of periods in his career in Paris but he's still only a young man and is hungry to make a big impression in the Premier League. His pedigree speaks for itself and he will most certainly add to the firepower at our disposal."

Jese scored 12 goals in 62 La Liga appearances for Madrid, but has only managed to find the back of the net twice in France.
