Man City injury, suspension news and return dates for Tottenham clash: Erling Haaland, Oscar Bobb latest

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Premier League encounter with Tottenham Hotspur.
Sports Mole

Squaring up to one of their least favourite opponents in recent memory, Manchester City headline the midweek round of Premier League fixtures on Wednesday evening, when Tottenham Hotspur lie in wait in North London.

Pep Guardiola's men could not stop the irrepressible Liverpool juggernaut on Sunday evening, falling to a 2-0 loss to the league leaders on their own patch thanks to goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Mohamed Salah.

Only goal difference is now keeping the reigning champions in the top-four spots in the Premier League table, but results elsewhere on Tuesday could demote them from those coveted positions before they next kick a ball.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with the Lilywhites, who taught Ipswich Town a harsh lesson in a 4-1 romping over the weekend.

Erling Haaland

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: February 26 (vs. Tottenham)

After tweaking his knee in the 4-0 win over Newcastle United two weekends ago, Erling Haaland was an unused substitute against Real Madrid in the Champions League and missed out entirely against Liverpool.

Guardiola explained that the Golden Boot winner did not feel entirely comfortable after their final training session, and his availability for Wednesday is up in the air.

Rodri

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Rodri has continued to provide positive updates on his rehabilitation from the devastating ACL injury he suffered against Arsenal in September, but it will still be months before the Spaniard is considered for selection again.

Manuel Akanji

Status: Out
Type of injury: Abductor
Possible return date: April 19 (vs. Everton)

Manuel Akanji recently went under the knife to treat the abductor injury he suffered in the first leg of the Champions League playoff defeat to Real Madrid, and the defender is expected to be sidelined until the middle of April.

John Stones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

The injury-plagued John Stones hurt his thigh at the Bernabeu last week, and there are fears that the England international might require an operation, which would sideline him for a lengthy spell.

Oscar Bobb

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle/fitness
Possible return date: Unknown

Oscar Bobb was on the cusp of making his comeback from a leg fracture, only to suffer an ankle-related setback, and the attacker remains out of contention for the time being.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no players suspended for this match.
