Report: Mauricio Pochettino interested in Newcastle United job

:Headline: Report: Mauricio Pochettino interested in Newcastle United job:
Mauricio Pochettino would be interested in succeeding Steve Bruce as Newcastle United manager if the club are taken over, according to a report.

Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly indicated that he is open to holding talks with Newcastle United once their takeover is completed.

A £300m Saudi-led buyout of the Magpies, backed by the country's public investment fund, is rumoured to be close to being finalised.

The prospective new owners are said to be eager to appoint a big-name manager to mark their arrival at St James' Park, with Pochettino - out of work since being sacked by Tottenham in November - one of the names mentioned.

Football Insider reports that the 48-year-old is interested in the job, despite previously admitting that he is wary of working for a club with unlimited riches.

Meanwhile, it is has been claimed that Newcastle do not have to pay Spurs any compensation should they reach an agreement with Pochettino to succeed current boss Steve Bruce.
