How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Manchester City

Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up in Tuesday night's Champions League clash with Manchester City.

Tottenham Hotspur will welcome Manchester City to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

Spurs started life in their new ground with a win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

Mauricio Pochettino's side will now be looking to secure a first leg advantage over City ahead of the return match at the home of the Premier League champions on April 17.

Spurs booked their spot in the knockout round of the competition by finishing second to Barcelona in Group B. They then overcame Borussia Dortmund in the round of 16, running out 4-0 winners on aggregate.

Here, Sports Mole has taken a look at how Tottenham could line up in Tuesday night's European affair, which is shaping up to be a fascinating contest.

Out: Eric Dier (hip)
Doubtful: Erik Lamela (hamstring), Serge Aurier (hamstring), Fernando Llorente (concussion)

Eric Dier will definitely miss out for Tottenham as he continues to battle a hip problem, while Serge Aurier, Erik Lamela and Fernando Llorente all all doubt for the home side.

Spurs are expected to revert to a back three with Davinson Sanchez joining Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen at the back, with Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose in the wing-back positions.

Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min should also all be included in support of Harry Kane.
Son could join Kane as part of a front two if Pochettino goes for a 5-3-2, although there is also the option of moving the 26-year-old wide in a 4-3-3.

Pochettino could easily spring a tactical surprise, though, with Harry Winks in contention to start having appeared off the bench against Palace last time out.

Moussa Sissoko's legs and energy will be absolutely key against the Citizens, though, and it would be a huge surprise if the former Newcastle United midfielder was left out.
