Mauricio Pochettino rules out Harry Kane rest

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino says that he would be "crazy" to rest Harry Kane for his side's Champions League tie with Inter Milan.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that it would be "crazy" to rest striker Harry Kane.

Questions have been raised over whether Kane is suffering from a World Cup hangover having made it all the way to the final week of the competition, following a slow start to the domestic campaign.

However, with Spurs beginning their Champions League journey away to Inter Milan on Tuesday night, Pochettino is refusing to entertain the idea of leaving his star man out of the team.

"I think we would be crazy to think different. Yes," Pochettino told Sky Sports News when asked about the possibility of leaving Kane out against Inter at the San Siro.

"I don't know what you expect from me, or what you think my answer should be.

"He's one of the best strikers in the world. I don't care that he wasn't great [on Saturday]. He's going to score goals and he's going to perform in the way we want and we expect. No problem."

Spurs have also been drawn alongside Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven in Group B of the competition.
