Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric will reportedly stay on at the Bernabeu for at least another two seasons, despite strong interest from Inter Milan.

Luka Modric has decided to commit himself to Real Madrid and is on the verge of signing a new contract, according to a report.

The Croatia midfielder was close to leaving Madrid for Inter Milan on the back of his national side's run to the World Cup final last summer, only for a move to break down.

Inter had been expected to renew their interest in Modric at the end of the season, but Marca claims that the 33-year-old is now likely to stay put at the Bernabeu for another couple of years.

Modric joined Los Blancos from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 and has more than justified his £30m transfer fee by helping the club to four Champions Leagues, four Club World Cups, two UEFA Super Cups, one La Liga and one Copa del Rey.

After starring for Croatia and Real in 2017-18, the Dinamo Zagreb academy product became the first player other than Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi to win the Ballon d'Or since Kaka more than a decade ago.

Taking all competitions into account, Modric has played 42 times for club and country this season.
