Alvaro Odriozola: 'Real Madrid speculation can wait'

Alvaro Odriozola says that he is only focused on helping Spain to World Cup glory and not speculation linking him with a switch from Real Sociedad to Real Madrid.

Real Sociedad full-back Alvaro Odriozola has vowed to ignore the ongoing speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

The 22-year-old's form this season has earned him a call-up to Spain's 23-man squad for next month's World Cup finals in Russia.

Odriozola is also rumoured to have caught the eye of Champions League winners Madrid, who are said to be prepared to offer £35m for the versatile Sociedad ace.

Speaking a little over a fortnight before the World Cup gets up and running, however, Odriozola insists that talk over his future can wait until later in the summer.

"My future is the national team," he told reporters. "I'm 22, it's a dream for me to go to the World Cup. It's a unique opportunity. My future is training tomorrow and the game on Sunday, nothing more."

Spain face Switzerland and Tunisia in friendlies prior to their World Cup group-stage opener against Portugal on June 15.
