Marcelo expecting Neymar to join Real Madrid

Real Madrid full-back Marcelo says that he expects Paris Saint-Germain and former Barcelona winger Neymar to join Los Blancos at some stage in the future.

Real Madrid full-back Marcelo has expressed his belief that Neymar will join Real Madrid at some stage in the future.

Neymar only joined Paris Saint-Germain in a blockbuster world-record £200m move last summer, but the Brazilian is rumoured to be unhappy in the French capital and regretting his decision to leave Barcelona.

Speculation that he could switch back to La Liga with Barca's bitter rivals Real Madrid has grown in recent months, and ahead of PSG's Champions League visit to face Los Blancos this week, Marcelo has suggested that his compatriot would be a perfect fit at the Bernabeu.

"I think Neymar will play for Real Madrid one day. Would Neymar fit at Real Madrid? He would fit, for sure. It would be great if he came to Real Madrid. In my opinion the great players have to play at this club," Marcelo told Esporte Interativo.

"I think it could have been a final, everybody is waiting for this match.PSG has a great team with great players.

"Real Madrid has an incredible history with the competition. The club's name means something, it's going to be a game everyone will want to see."

Champions League holders Real Madrid will host favourites PSG at the Bernabeu for the first leg of their last-16 tie on Wednesday, before travelling to the Parc des Princes for the second leg on March 6.
