Zinedine Zidane not worried about Real Madrid future

Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane insists that he is not worried about his future at the club despite speculation linking him with a departure from the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane has stressed that he is not worried about his future at the club.

The Frenchman is under pressure at the Bernabeu, with Los Blancos currently 17 points behind Barcelona in the La Liga table and having been knocked out of the Copa del Rey to Leganes.

Numerous reports have claimed that the continuation of Zidane's tenure at Real now rests on whether the Spanish giants can overcome Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Zidane, who became the first coach in the Champions League era to successfully defend the trophy last year while guiding Real to the La Liga title, has however claimed that he is not concerned about his position.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday's first leg in Madrid, the 45-year-old told Sky Sports News: "Right now I'm not thinking about my future, I'm only thinking about the game as it's the only thing we can control so we're focusing on preparing for the game and we'll see what happens.

"Every game and every training session is important to me but my future is not important. I'm very happy about playing these types of games. Today there's no pressure in particular, we've prepared the game in the same way we always do. There will always be pressure here, it's something habitual, but I'm going to keep enjoying myself."

Real have won the Champions League three times in the last four years, twice beating city rivals Atletico Madrid in the final and overcoming Juventus last term.
