Copa Libertadores final to be staged at Santiago Bernabeu?

:Headline: Copa Libertadores final to be staged at Santiago Bernabeu?:
Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu emerges as a possible venue for the rearranged Copa Libertadores final between Boca Juniors and River Plate.

The Copa Libertadores final between Boca Juniors and River Plate could be played out at Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu, according to a report.

Last week's second leg was twice called off after Boca's team bus was attacked by rival fans on its way to the game at the Estadio Monumental.

With concerns over security at the venue, both clubs are now working with governing body CONMEBOL to find a new location.

Miami and Doha have been touted as possible destinations to host the high-profile fixture, but Jugones de La Sexta suggests that Madrid will push for the match to be staged at their home ground.

CONMEBOL, FIFA and the Spanish Federation have all given the green light for the game to take place there next month, it is claimed, potentially on the weekend of December 8 and 9.

Real president Florentino Perez has a strong relationship with the presidents of River and Boca, while 71,000 Argentinians live in the Spanish capital, making it an attractive proposition. body check tags ::
