Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly open to becoming the next boss of Brazil.

During 2021-22, the Italian led Los Blancos to glory in La Liga and the Champions League, strengthening his legacy as one of the greatest European managers in history.

However, in his third campaign back at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real have under-performed in Spain's top flight, currently sitting eight points adrift of leaders and rivals Barcelona.

Although Real are one of the favourites for the Champions League, their success of last season appears unlikely to be replicated ahead of potential changes to the squad in the summer.

According to GeGlobo, via Defensa Central, any incomings or outgoing at Real in the future may not be overseen by Ancelotti.

The report claims that the 63-year-old holds an interest in entertaining discussions to become the new manager of Brazil.

While Real are said to have rejected an initial approach from the football federation of the five-time World Cup winners, president Florentino Perez is allegedly now prepared to hold talks.

Perez is apparently aware that Ancelotti would relish the chance to take over from Tite, who departed the role on the back of Brazil being eliminated at the quarter-final stage of the 2022 World Cup.

Despite his success since beginning his managerial career in 1995, Ancelotti is yet to take charge of a national team, his obvious preference being Italy.

However, Roberto Mancini is the current incumbent, and although the Azzurri failed to qualify for the World Cup, the former Manchester City man is expected to remain in the role in the long term.

Should any agreement be reached between Real, Brazil and Ancelotti, he would remain at Real for the rest of the season before taking over the South American country in June.

During his two spells with Real, Ancelotti has won nine pieces of silverware, and he hopes to make that 10 on Saturday when his team participate in the Club World Cup final.

That fixture comes less than two weeks before Real resume their Champions League schedule with the first leg of their last-16 tie against Liverpool. body check tags ::
